Dr. Stephanie McKenna, PT, DPT

Stephanie McKenna developed a passion for athletics and wellness at a young age through her journey as a competitive swimmer. Swimming through college at Florida State, she took her passion and ran into the field of physical therapy and has never looked back. She found her true love for women's/pelvic health after navigating her own symptoms and exploring ways to SOLVE mechanical body issues vs managing them in women with chronic pelvic pain.

Her methods focus on restoration of pelvic balance with a strong emphasis on exploring and learning how to best support the body and core for each individual. She places a strong emphasis on breath work and strength development to improve the human function.

Her true passion shines when working with the pregnant and postpartum population. Currently researching methods and protocols to decrease the risk of pelvic floor injury with the birthing process and restoring function after birth.

When not working, she spends her time with her husband, two boys, and berner Riley. She loves to swim outside, hike, and enjoy local wineries. An implant from Wisconsin she relocated to NOVA with her husband and enjoys exploring the eastern shores and beaches. A devote Cheesehead and Seminole her fall weekends are spent watching the games and cheering on her favorite teams.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do. Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
